Understatement makes a better statement.

People shout when they don't want to repeat.

II. But design, good design, is built on repetition.
By refining the same curve, the same detail, the same line until it stops feeling odd, and starts feeling permanent.

Like the buildings that seem as if they’ve always been there.
They earn that feeling by resisting the temptation to be loud.

Loudness is the default when you don’t expect to be around tomorrow.
But noise isn’t heard. It's tolerated.

III. Understatement isn’t meek.
It's a promise that says, “I’ll still be here tomorrow.”

because it's made of trust, taste, and time.
