Face Yourself.

Face Yourself.

The number one reason for shying away from all you want to do, or said you want to do, is the inability to face yourself.

How do you face yourself after all that you’ve done? All that you said you’ve done but actually just borrowed? The number of days, if not years, you’ve let yourself wallow and stew in sadness or unproductivity? All that work you created not with intention but haste and recklessness? All the times you abandoned good ideas because you couldn’t stand the mundanity of them?

It’s staring at you when you sit with an empty screen or a page in front of you, or when you walk alone (no people or devices as crutch).

You’d happily fill your hours, even minutes, with sounds or visuals because what’s going on in your mind feels like deafening noise. And you would just like to silence it with other noise, or at least what we understand to be pleasant sounds.

At some point, we’re going to have to face ourselves. All those terrible decisions.

But we keep living in the delusion that if we just distract ourselves enough, we can skip facing ourselves and live by.

But..all those choices you made? they can’t be outrun.

or at least I don't think they can be.
